Little America is an organization designed to enhance the lives of developmentally delayed individuals.  We are located in Richland County, Wisconsin and are currently raising funds for the land and main complex of the facility.  This facility will include a restaurant, shops, gym, library, and many employment opportunities to improve the quality of the inhabitants’ lives.

The purpose of our community is to provide housing, employment, recreation and educational opportunities to all inhabitants.  This will initially consist of 4 duplexes and 4 single cottages that will house 12 individuals.  Each unit will be structurally adjusted to the requirements of the occupants and more units will be added as needed. Each unit will be single story with a bedroom, kitchen or kitchenette, living area, dining room, and a basement for storage.

This establishment will incorporate a plethora of “Green” technology including solar panels on every house and the main complex.  Windmills will dot the landscape and hybrid vehicles will be the main source of transportation.  Around the village itself, electric vehicles will be utilized.  We will have a comprehensive recycling center that will serve ALL of Richland County!  Everything about Little America will be Eco-friendly.

There will be gardens, orchards, and a year round greenhouse to help promote this self-sufficient community.  These will be used to grow the community’s vegetables, fruits, and herbs, not only for personal consumption and use in the restaurant, but also for purchase in the Garden and Produce Shop, as well as the Cannery and Eatery.  Additional stores such as the computer and crafts shops will give the opportunity of advanced skills and learning potentials.

The restaurant will be a major factor in our community as it will most likely feed the majority of the residents and staff.  It will also offer excellent meals for the public on a daily basis – staffed by the people of our community!  We can do this!  We will do this!  Please help us make it a reality!
